glow

August 7, 2012

I'm going to split the posts about our trip last week into two sections, because it was essentially two completely separate experiences plus I really geek out over thought organization. Jon and I flew into the city a few days before the actual conference started and had a nice little married-people-alone-no-kid vacation, but before you get all jealousangry that's the first time we've left our child overnight ever since he was born {almost} three years ago so your argument is invalid.

I was perfectly content just walking around the city, drinking and eating, seeing the people who live there we never get to see. Since we've been to NYC before we skipped all the touristy stuff and just wandered around. I love New York. Period. Every time we visit I am blown away by how nice the people are and how much they love their city.

We got to spend time with some of the friends the two of us have come to really love through twitter, and it was hands down my favorite part of the trip. It's so rare to meet a group of people you can just sit down and shoot the shit with and laugh until you fall over in complete unselfconscious comfort. Oh you guys, that's special stuff and I should stop thinking about how far away they all live before I cry.

Anyway, no one needs a minute-by-minute recap of my vacation (STREET MEATS) so let's just skip to the much more interesting visual section of today's tour down last-week memory lane.
